Act now in Romanian animals favour!

FACTS

Millions of street dogs, cats, horses, and donkeys are left in Romania'streets to live on refuse.

Romanian pounds administrated by local authorities –a violation of animal rights!
The concentration camps/pounds administrated by local authorities in most of the cities are a disgrace, a shameful reaction, a total indifference to dogs and animal lover feelings.

The conditions in which catch strays are kept in the local pounds represent a nightmare, hard to be described in words.

Be part of our campaign to request the Romanian authorities to renovate the dogs pounds administrated from public funds in the manner these places to meet international criteria for animals’ protection.

Presently, most of the pounds don’t have the authorization to function, the kennels don’t respect the minimum rules for keeping the dogs safely and clean; the lack of veterinary assistance and lack of periodic disinfection makes them unsafe places for the local community.

Dogs from the pounds live worse than in the worst prison and their only “guilt” is to be born unwanted.

Keeping enclosed few hundred of strays, in horrible abusive conditions obviously will not solve a millions strays problem. A sterilization program sustained continuously with public (and private) funds should be an alternative; the funds presently used by City Halls to “administrate” the pounds can be redirected wisely for a spay/neuter scheme that will reduce humanely the number of unwanted animals.

The image of Romania as country is suffering because of continuous degradation of condition of dump animals, under the ignorant authority’s eyes.
The alignment of Romania Law for Animal Protection to the EU regulations shouldn’t be made only on papers, as it can be described the current situation now due to lack of  infrastructure to make the law practicable.

Ask Romanian authorities to transform the local pounds according with European regulations! Your signature counts!
