Update from Ann and Maria from Norway:
"We are two Norwegian veterinary students, Ann Kristin Solvang and Maria Johansen, we are in our last year at school and we wish come to Galati and voluntarily work with stray dogs and cats. We want to combine this trip with our final university assignment about anestesia. We hope to come for three weeks either during the spring or fall 2010 and by then we will work to get donors and sponsors to the project. We really look forward to meeting a new culture, neither of us has visited Romania before and it will be a exiting experience for us! Your organisation do a fantastic job for animals in need of care and we look forward to be a part of that!
Maria Relling & Ann Kristin S.,Norway"
Please learn more about the volunteers program on our website's "Volunteers" section and contact us if you want to join it; we would need to know basic things about you: your name, arrival/departure date, how many persons coming, experience with animals, references (if the case) from your local shelter.
ROLDA offers free accommodation at the shelter cottage and references for our excellent volunteers.
Thank you!
RENOVATION PLAN 2010 FOR ROLDA ADOPTION CENTER
Our new ambition is to completely renovate the 6+ years old dog kennels, this is estimated to 60,000 USD.
Thanks to a local company,we are hopeful to receive a grant to cover 70% from the veterinary clinic costs, but we need to raise the rest which is almost 100,000 USD.It is a huge amount of money and a very ambitious project for our resources but it will means a new future to Romanian animals and people with low-income which care for them.
