REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL REHOMING DOGS/CATS FROM ROMANIA

Before making a final decision, please contact us or our partners for additional information,  and make sure you read the followings :

For dogs/cats going to Holland

An adoption fee of 200 EUR/dog will be gratefully accepted.

You'll complete a form, accept a home checking and sign an adoption contract before the "chosen" dog/cat will be sent to you.

Please contact Hanekke at h.tesselaar@casema.nl for details.

For dogs/cats going to the United Kingdom and Ireland

1.  A blood test must be done by an authorized European Union laboratory.  This costs about 45 EURper test.  Blood sampling should be done about 30 days after vaccination.  Blood test results are valid for entry for six months after the date of sampling;
2. Pet passport requirements include that vaccinations and internal de-worming must be done within 48 hours before leaving Romania;
3. There is a transport fee of £170.

If these requirements are met,  there are no additional costs,  and no quarantine is necessary after the animal reaches Britain.

Please contact Chrissy at mail@romaniaanimalaid.co.uk for details.

For dogs/cats going to Norway

1. A blood test must be done by an authorized European Union laboratory.  This costs about 45 EUR per test.  The test must be performed 120 days after the most recent anti-rabies vaccination.

INTERNATIONAL REHOMING PROGRAM

It is not ROLDA policy to move the Romanian strays' problem abroad,  but it is our duty as an animal protection charity to not refuse any chance that a dog or cat might have to enjoy a normal,  secure and happy life.  If one of our international supporters happens to fall in love with a ROLDA animal,  we do everything we can to help that adoption succeed.

Romanian strays adopted in UK

Our friends Chrissy P. & Janet volunteered  at ROLDA shelter in the summer of 2008.  Shocked by the conditions in which Romanian strays survive on the streets and endure when impounded,  Chrissy decided to do more and set up Romanian Animal Aid, affiliated with ROLDA that helps to find more adoptive families for  our shelter dogs.

LOCAL REHOMING PROGRAM

Adopting out homeless animals from our shelters is the second step in the ROLDA procedure,  after sterilizing the animals and providing any other necessary medical treatment.  Our goal is to humanely reduce the homeless animal overpopulation while encouraging the community to take responsibility for animals and become actively involved in helping them.
