BLANDUTA: SPECIAL DOG WITH SPECIAL NEEDS AND SPECIAL ....FEELINGS!

During her vacation, Nicoleta found an abandoned female dog max 2 years old on the Eforie beach /Black Sea resort .

She called her Blanduta (which is adiminutiv for “gentle, kind” in Romanian)It’s a special doggy because her back legs are paralyzed and she needed emergency assistance because she was moving only with the front legs while the others two back legs were crawled on concrete and sand…and the back legs were full of wounds, most infected especially during the hot time.

Nicoleta took the dog at one vet in Constanta where antibiotics were administrated plus spaying surgery made during her few days hospitalization.

ALMA RESCUE STORY

Doina phoned us a week ago, her disturbed voice foreseen no good news. A while ago Alma (the street dog protégée at Doina’s apartment) was spayed at the local veterinary clinic for free.

In that moment ROLDA staff and the volunteers heard Alma’s terrible sad story for the first time:Doina is a great local animal lover ,living in a small apartment with her husband at the ground floor where she also fenced a small garden where two doghouses are placed: one in empty now because neighbors poisoned a beautiful dog that look for a shelter in the area (he was poisoned because he was barking in the night) and in the other kennel lives Alma.

INDIANA ADOPTION STORY

Indiana is a female cat which lived in the neighbors of ROLDA small shelter until Pride’s family visited us having in mind that a new cat will be what they need for a “complete” family. It was love at first sight, Brenda and her son instantly wanted to adopt Indiana.

Because she was too small at that time, around 2 months old - we agreed to have her spayed in Constanta town when she grows a little more.

ARPAD RESCUE STORY

It is three days now since Arpad was neutered at the local veterinary clinic in Galati, where ROLDA provides free sterilizations (not only for the dogs rescued from the steel plant but also for the community street dogs and cats) almost two weeks since his leg was seriously affected and had a major surgery.
Arpad almost lost his leg, he represented a big problem at the local pound where he was brought in very poor condition at the veterinary clinic with minimum survival chances.
Arpad used to fight other males with which he shared the kennel, he was the cause for many dog fights spreading in other kennels, stress for the dogs, wounds which were hardly see and treated by the pound neglecting staff.(We all know how terrible conditions from Romanian pounds are).

The day when Arpad was rescued and arrived at the veterinary clinic was a life or death matter, which luckily solved thanks to our veterinary collaborator in Arpad’s best interest.
Hearing about this male dog’ behavior problems, the vet decided to treat the infected wound immediately and in few weeks to see him again, after the leg is recovered to sterilize him, to decrease his aggressive attitude.
Arpad is now sharing the kennel with 3 other large males at the ROLDA big rescue center and he caused no further problem since he was neutered. With some patience from our staff side Arpad will be a fully recovered re-educated boy!

Jack rescue story

Jack is almost 3 years old male saved from Mittal steel plant,he used to live near an industrial railway where he got food from time to time from Mittal employees.

One day one of the employees found him with a huge wound at the front paw,some people consider it was a cruelty act made by a sick person...

BULINA'S STORY : A PERMANENT HOME NEEDED ASAP!

Found by Rodica together with 4 other poisoned puppies, last year. Bulina was saved and looked after in Rodica’s home until now when she called ROLDA team and explain that Bulina’s good luck might change if we’ll not take him in our shelter for care.
