News about the Adoption Center building
Started on June, 2007 ROLDA Adoption Center has now, in December month - 2 paddocks of ten kennels/each ready to welcome our furry friends collected from MITTAL company' area .
Working closely with MITTAL leaders, we announced through their bimonthly newsletter that we'll start collecting the dogs humanely, using the tranquilizer solution only for extreme situations.
MITTAL workers will help us collecting the strays within the company garden because of the two main reasons: educating the locals that they need to be part of this program for its success and because it's a responsibility for both animal lovers and those who don't like homeless animals on the street to help solve this situation.
Our task will not be an easy one because we have to interview and hire in a relatively short time compassionate dogs catchers ,to instruct them how to use the catching instruments and humanely catching techniques ,plus finding rightly dogs caretakers, instruct them how to properly disinfect and clean the kennels and offer the best conditions to our sheltered dogs.
Solving the MITTAL strays problem humanely might be a major step in the confidence that we are giving to other authorities to solve the overall strays problem.

ROLDA is still a small group working at international level to change attitude of local Romanians by offering an example.To avoid being involved in politics, because Romania is a corrupt country, we are not receiving public funds of any kind, we rely solely on generous individuals donations or foundations' grants.
It will take only few moments from your time, but maybe it will help you better understand our struggle, appreciating more our efforts and our good work in animals' favor.

« ROLDA working with VETIMED veterinary clinic (DVM Gingarasu) performed 315 spay/neuter in Galati.
« ROLDA helped the local community by providing veterinary assistance to 418 dogs and 56 cats.
« Over 10 local companies joined forces with ROLDA for a massive spay/neuter program within MITTAL garden ,as well as building an Adoption Center -unique because of the services going to offer to local community.
« More than 800 dogs sheltered benefit from our care.
« 6 international volunteers from Europe and USA helped ROLDA along the year.
« ROLDA benefits from media coverage in UK and Northern Ireland.
« Our commitment for animals made international corporations like Arcelor Mittal , Intervet , Mars ,Laughing Dogs to become interested in ROLDA' s good work .
« ROLDA's education program addressed in 2007 to more than one problem. We encourage people to learn about importance of spay/neuter, de-worming and flea control not only for each pet' comfort, but as sign of civic responsibility .We raised awareness about the vaccination, also to prevent mass-spreading diseases.
« Our appearance in local media attracted new local volunteers, especially youth.
« Peace Corp volunteers join our forces starting July, 2007.
« Rotary International became involved in Adoption Center' project devolvement.
« ROLDA has a new Representative in Netherlands, to promote Romanian homeless animals cause!
« ROLDA was represented at 2 international conferences on animal's welfare.
