MEETING WITH ROLDA UK REPRESENTATIVE(July 2008)
(photo: Veronica and Dana ,July 2008)
Veronica Titchener is one of ROLDA friends always with us when we need her the most !Fighting all her life for animals welfare, an active person against animals cruelty and advocate for international animals interests, she became ROLDA representative for UK about 5 years ago.
Since than, every minute of her life she spent in favor of Romanian strays cause: her experience, open-mind and creativity helps raising awareness about the problems we are facing our needs and our progresses.
ROLDA UK is very limited financially but Veronica's extra-energy makes it move on in the right direction.
Thanks to her unending efforts our UK members number continue growing; very recently a lady living in UK -Chrissy was visiting Romania and appalled of the strays tragedy offered to be part of our UK team and help us solve efficiently this problem.

DOGS RESCUED FROM MEDIAS TOWN
Maria is a British citizen but was living in Romania for two years. She had a house in Medias town (Transylvania) where naturally ,being an animal 'lover -she sheltered few homeless animals.
When she had to move back in her country, she wanted to take two of the Romanian dogs with her, in UK: she prepared all veterinary papers and blood tests for Piggy and Sebastian, she bought two huge crates for dogs air transportation, but unfortunately due to some papers mistakes- she wasn't able to bring the dogs with her.
She couldn't stand the thought of leaving these dogs on the streets...for this reason, she paid a local older woman to take care of them. In the past months, the old woman's health condition got worse and worse and poor dogs security was jeopardized.

ROLDA got a phone call one day ,a lady desperately asked for our help to shelter two dogs. Normally, we ussually prefer to take care of the dogs locally, because their number is already very high for our means of caring them....and prefer not split the resources, already insufficient -but in this case, the story really touch our hearts and the happy end for these dogs convinced us to do an exception !
If we offer to these two dogs a temporarily sheltering, Maria' dream can become true: she can have time to arrange properly their transportation to her house, where they belong.

ROLDA is helping our UK friend to solve the papers problem and through our connections, we are hoping to find a way to transport these two wonderful furry babies to Maria's home.
Of course,we will keep you posted on this....
Our special thanks go this month to our amazing supporters:Lina, Donald, Nancy, Marianne,Ronald, Maria, Andreas BH
