« ROLDA represented at "International Conference on humans-animals Interaction" (october,2007)
Our organization's booth offered to the expo' participants brochures, flyers, DVD's describing our activity and traditional Romanian objects.
Many thanks to Tomoko Suda for her significant contribution and to our generous sponsor who made this trip possible !
International volunteers from UK at our shelter .Laura and other three friends of ROLDA from UK will volunteer at our shelter for 10 days. They have a lot of experience caring for the sheltered animals because they are all helping regularly a Liverpool organization.
After their visit will be ended, hopefully the word about Romanian animals condition in the pounds and ROLDA progresses will be spread out and more animal' lovers will be interested to be involved.
One of the international volunteers program' purpose is to promote Romanian animals condition abroad and another aspect ,important for the local community is teaching it some responsibility and new ways to deal with homeless and even sheltered animals.
It's important for us -the animal' lovers community- not to be seen by the others like some crazy, eccentric people not having better things to do than looking after homeless animals used to be beaten or in the best case, ignored. Many locals were curious and surprised to see how passionate foreign people are to give love and care to our neglected furry friends and want to follow their example.
Experienced animals caretakers teach Romanians how to use efficiently the disinfectant, how to properly clean the kennels and look after the sheltered dogs in the best way possible.
Please visit our International Volunteers 'section to learn more one of our most longeval program !
TestimonialsOn Saturday 8th September 2007 Willie Nugent from Armagh (N.Ireland) visited the ROLDA animal shelter in Romania on his "Shaking Paws Around the World" Journey.
(Willie N. is proudly one of this year winners of IFAW's "Animal Action Award".)
Willie said he really enjoyed his stay: "The shelter was very clean and of the highest standards.Everyone was most welcoming and devoted to the dogs.I really admire the work Dana Costin is doing.I was especially impressed by the lengths she takes to ensure the health and wellbeing of the dogs.I wish there were more people like her in the world today."
