Flori is working since more than a year as dogs caretaker & shelter cleaner at our first shelter.
Additionally, she is trying to learn some English in order to understand with the volunteers coming from abroad to help at the shelter.
photo: Corina B.
She is 31 years old and she lives in Braila ,the closest town from Galati.
Her qualification is biologist, currently unemployed. She found out about ROLDA shelter from radio and decided to get involved.
First time she came to our shelter ,Corina didn't knew what to ask first ,she wanted to know everything and start the next day helping as volunteer.
I was stunned by her energy and by her motivation to help just because her love for animals ,without any secondary reason, not for any financial gagne.
photo: Maria D., a US Peace Corp volunteering for two years in Galati ,as a high school teacher visited our shelter.
Maria admitted that she was shocked to see so many strays in Galati, moreover shocked about the differences between humans 'mentality in Galati and in parallel -in New York (her city).
She discussed with us the possibility of beginning a high school education program ,starting with her classes. Being impressed of what she saw in our shelter but also realizing how much we are struggling to solve all daily problems ,she promised to work with us to bring other Peace Corp volunteers on a permanently base ,to help us.
Plus ,she offered to volunteer her time this summer -because dogs are her passion here and back in her home country .
Thank you, Maria for your good thoughts ,for offering your support and for dedicating your time to our dogs !
