   1 JUNE 2009 -DRAW AND WIN WITH YOUR PET

~ interactive contest for 4-10 years old talented,animal lovers kids ~

From 19 to 27 May, kids between 4-10 years old from Galati were invited to drawing contest! On 1st June, 7 selected winners received the prizes, in terms of toys, a Ruff dog and cakes. The protocol and cakes are kindly offered by our newest collaborator, Cukys. This contest is part of ROLDA education campaign- to raise awareness about the importance of pets in our lives.

 MY PET RULES

~ Interactive, online monthly photo contest organized in partnership with “Viata Libera” publication ~

 Pet owners (or animal lovers helping a street animal) are welcome to send a photo with their voiceless friend and the website visitors are voting the best photo. The winner receives a symbolic prize/ pet products at his/her choice in value of 100 RON.

Due to its huge success, this contest will be organized monthly, in collaboration with Viata Libera (local newspaper),Veti-Med and Arcelor Mittal Galati.

“Your pet do need periodic veterinary care” - consists of distribution of free literature assembled by the ROLDA veterinary collaborator,  explaining how pet keepers can prevent many of the most dangerous and most common small animal diseases.

“Give me a chance to reach to your heart” – is our billboard promoting pet adoptions.

“Take me home” – is another of our adoption promotions.

We also have a high school educational campaign,  organized in collaboration with our volunteers from Britain.

 
Many thanks to Maria Demonte, Peace Corp volunteer and teacher at "Elena Doamna" Highscool for making possible this event' organization ,special big "thank you" goes to Kate ,Mike, Laura and Dareen for speaking out their own impressions about strays' situation, about ROLDA-handing out leaflets with information, they were talking about respecting of animals and encouraging more than 150 kids to actively help Romanian strays!

INTERNATIONAL VETERINARIES STEPS IN TO HELP ROLDA MASS-STERILIZATION CAMPAIGN IN GALATI

Your financial or gift-in-kind contribution will keep the sterilization program free for the local community. We remind you that ROLDA is the ONLY charity doing free sterilization in Galati.

Veterinary events in 2010

3 vets from Norway and one vet from Sweden spent three weeks during March/April working with Romanian vets team to prevent the born of countless puppies on the streets in the future.

A group of 4-5 graduating students and vets from UK will be participating to a summer spaying week. 

If you are an experienced veterinarian who want to spend a Holiday at ROLDA and help with the sterilization procedures at the vet clinic, we would be happy to hear from you!

When our budget allows, we are covering the flight costs and offer free accomodation at the shelter cottage for one or two vets.
