SECOND 1ST PRIZE FOR FREYA (ALIAS SUZY)

Suzy is one of the three girls ROLDA rescued from Bucharest. All three are safe now in UK thanks to RAA, (http://www.romaniaanimalaid.co.uk), Chrissy and her charity partners.
Suzy was adopted by Jan and Joanne who instantly felt in love with her.

 

Our lucky girl was renamed Freya and we constantly receive updates from her new family, which not only being very proud of their little angel but also discovering that they have now an unstoppable winner of all the competitions she attends.

So far, our Freya attend two competitions which meant for her two 1st prizes –one organized by PDSA where she won the “Best Rescue Dog” prize in May and another 1st prize won at a local dog show. It’s such a dramatic change for a little girl from living near a trash to be spoiled and her beauty and talents to be recognized abroad.

 

Good girl, Freya!!!!

 

SUMMER UPDATE- FREE STERILIZATION CAMPAIGN

Since ROLDA initiated the free sterilization campaign back in 2004, over 5,500 homeless dogs and cats were preventing to give birth to thousand and thousand other puppies and kittens to suffer on Romania streets. We decided to stop for a month (July) the sterilization campaign for the local community because we need the same vets services to spay the bitches catch from the steel plant, which either will be adopted abroad or released in the MITTAL territory.
Starting August month we will respond to local community needs to "full capacity" and we hope, with your help to raise funds to do as many surgeries as possible. Our goal for August month will be 100 female dogs and cats.
 
Every medium female spaying is 20 USD.
A cat sterilization is 13 USD.

Arpad rests now in the sun, his leg wound start healing. Indiana and her three kittens share a basket in Brenda's room while Alma hardly leaves the exercises area at the ROLDA small shelter, where sometimes still barks in the night because she miss her "guardian angel" badly.
Skype is sharing a kennel with other juniors at the large ROLDA dog rescue center ....
All these dogs stories follows and have something in common ....beside being Romanian street animals!

REX ONLINE AUCTION FOR ROMANIAN ANIMALS

ROLDA is organizing the first online auction, organized in favor of homeless animals, having as a result collecting as much as we can, close to 10,000 USD to sterilize the remaining number to reach 2,500 street female dogs sterilizations.

REX - THE NAME OF FUNDRAISING/ONLINE AUCTION

  

Rex was a German shepherd, rescued from the local pound with minimal survival chances. He suffered of epilepsy and because nobody treated him, because of the massive stress from the pound, his condition depreciates every day.

Everyone thought I am crazy to rescue Rex because they thought he is "aggressive" and he will bite and harm me...which of course it wasn’t true. While in our shelter, Rex was like a big puppy, a delicate giant preferring to sit in the grass and in my lap looking in my eyes like he would have told me his same sad story. Only after seizures, which became in time longer, his look was dark ,his good heart weaker...until one day when he didn't weak up after the most long seizure he ever had...except for some moments when he bark continuously.

 

Rex is buried in the garden of the ROLDA Adoption Center to guard after life his brothers and sisters which he cannot physically "protect".
The online fundraising event I started in July it's called after his name -REX- ONLINE AUCTION in the hope that his story and his name will not be forgotten by others and he will help those who still have a chance to a better life.

The charitable veterinary clinic that will be built for the first time in Romania to help homeless animals and low-income people with animals will be named REX. This is my tribute to my beloved Rex which had almost nothing in his life than a big heart and a happy smile that conquer me instantly.
