"...The ROLDA shelter was top-rated between others 17 Eastern Europe's shelters, after an evaluation made by Animal People's journalists...."
IMPORTANT!
Shelter renovation work begins - July,2008 .
Built in 2003, the first ROLDA shelter is located 7 km outside Galati and was conceived to be an answer to the local homeless animals problem; a problem severely increasing in the past years.
Currently, the ROLDA shelter accommodates dogs (especially with disabilities) in spacious, clean kennels with heating, electricity (even music!!!), clean beds, big running spaces, toys, etc. Our dogs are all spayed/neutered and vaccinated--ready for a new adoptive family.
Isolation unit for new comings
Our paddocks are built upon UK design.
Each paddock has 10 kennels and running space for dogs exercises.

Our no-kill shelter is a haven for lost, injured, abused, or unwanted animals. No dog from the ROLDA shelter is ever knowingly turned over to a research laboratory, guard dog company, or unqualified or cruel guardian.
Our shelter welcomes strays in desperate need of veterinary assistance and care (homeless animals hit by cars, with broken legs, skin diseases, infected injuries, and other ailments.
new well and indoor water system; fence replacement for running spaces and between kennels; new roof for shelter cottage and new roof for paddocks.
ROLDA is planning for the coming months ,with support coming from YOU-our wonderful donor- to build a brand new cat sanctuary to help solve the growing cats overpopulation in Galati.
" After my Printz's death (a German Shepherd, 6 years old), I decided to help the homeless animals in more ways than just feeding them on streets. I had the idea to built a sanctuary or at least few kennels, where animals (sick, abused, dumped, needing long-term care and veterinary assistance, a warm and clean place for recovery) could be sheltered. I meant to build that place in my Printz's loving memory. I didn't get any kind of support from local authorities. I had to buy the land outside Galati, where I started everything from nothing. I made greater than expected investments, …but the efforts are "rewarded" each time I see a happy dog playing. The ROLDA shelter was top- rated in the evaluation made by Animal People's journalists for Eastern Europe's shelters. I know that it's the hardest to maintain a top-rated thing there and this is asking for sacrifices and effort, but I am determined to continue to search for ways to help my strays and the ongoing programs that ROLDA has, hoping that there will be well-intentioned, compassionate people that would like to be involved in our charity's actions in the future."

We face many difficulties and problems every day, problems caused by authorities, by humans ignorance or because of the poor economical situation.
We are very dissapointed when we are able to offer TLC only to part of them, due to our small budget and witness countless others going hungry.
We would love to feed and protect them all because each Romanian stray is very special, loving and an incredibly good companion.
Each one is unique and wonderful, and deserves a good decent life. We need more volunteers to help us continue our activity, we need also more resources (veterinary items, financial resources to pay shelter bills, vets bills, and dog food) in order to keep going and be able to ensure medical care for urgent situations we are dealing with daily !

To help us continue our activity and make our dreams a reality, please offer your support !Please donate to help us raise around 1,500 USD/monthly which covers :
Animals direct costs (dry dogfood , vaccination ,medicines for deparasitation, shelter costs(cleaning supplies , gas for the van, emptying septic fosa...),administrative costs ( salaries for caretakers and shelter 'bills)
