Introducing our new vet.- DVM Gingarasu

Since May ,2006 -ROLDA ended the collaboration with Dr.Ileana 's clinic and start searching for a better solution .We left there the blood analyzer equipment ,valuing over 10,000 Euro ,donated by Dogs Trust UK ,hoping that it will be used for homeless animals 'needs!

Eventually, we were lucky to find Dr. Gingarasu whom shortly become the dream come true for Romanian homeless animals in our care .

He is doing for ROLDA low-cost veterinary work (all kind of treatments and surgeries, spay/ neuters), he also donated part of his free time to give veterinary tips to ROLDA volunteers - this is extremely rare thing in Romania because most of the vets are greedy and for them, the notion of "charitable work" doesn't practically exists, they charge the same tariff for animals with owners as they are charging the non-profit groups!

Every organization would be blessed to have a vet. like Dr. Gingarasu in its team ,a vet. that finds time to help so much our charity ,beside having his own numerous clinic' clients. DVM Gingarasu is one of the best vets in Galati , recognized in surrounding areas and even abroad ,he has a license in homeopathy , specialized in ecography, dermatology in France, specialized in urology in Italy .

He was invited to few international conferences ,he speaks fluently French and English languages.

ROLDA' s campaign for flea& ticks control

We are offering free flea & ticks control products to all animal' lovers from Galati taking care of homeless animals. This campaign was possible thanks to Bob Martin UK' donation and amazing efforts made by our DVM Gingarasu Cornel and his team.

Hoping to be sustained by our generous supporters ,this campaign will continue in July/August for Galati community.

International experiences on the sterilization campaign

Dr. Jeanne Olson spent 3 weeks (27 April-15 May 2006) at a local clinic where she impressed everyone with her knowledge and ingenuity to adapt to unusual and unpredictable situations that occurred.

Thanks to Dr. Olson' efforts, we were able to spay/neuter all un-sterilized dogs at the first pound; spay/neuter , treat homeless animals brought by local community; and save some severely injured dogs.

We are estimating that the number of un-sterilized homeless animals in our town is around 7,000. Working with local veterinary clinics , ROLDA spay/neuter and treat as many homeless animals as our budget allows.

We closely collaborated with the Humane Society International and RAVS USA vets. In fall,2004 we successfully spayed/neutered and treated almost a hundred animals in their short stay.

A local veterinarian was trained by RAVS USA vets about less-painful anesthesia methods, as well as a new suture technique. She also completed the International Veterinary Training Program, 20th-31st March 2006, organized by Mayhew Animal Home UK.

ROLDA makes an appeal to generous sponsors, corporations, foundations, and animal lovers to help us help the local community and our voiceless friends, to transform this project into a successful one, and to maintain it free of any charge for the Galati citizens for the entire year.

We are making an appeal to all animal lovers willing to be actively involved in our sterilization campaign to volunteer their time, maybe a week's vacation spent at our shelter cottage, to help the Romanian animals and us in this important program!

In the due course,we'll need more than ever:

~ veterinary assistants;

~ shelter helpers(caretakers, kennels, people, assistants, etc.)and

~ reporters and volunteers able to do press-releases and spread the word all over world, to contact international media with our updates and news.
