Veronica Titchener is one of ROLDA friends always with us when we need her the most !Fighting all her life for animals welfare, an active person against animals cruelty and advocate for international animals interests, she became ROLDA representative for UK about 5 years ago.
Since than, every minute of her life she spent in favor of Romanian strays cause: her experience, open-mind and creativity helps raising awareness about the problems we are facing our needs and our progresses.
ROLDA UK is very limited financially but Veronica's extra-energy makes it move on in the right direction.
Thanks to her unending efforts our UK members number continue growing; very recently a lady living in UK -Chrissy was visiting Romania and appalled of the strays tragedy offered to be part of our UK team and help us solve efficiently this problem.

Our dog Oache arrived to his new familly in UK!
Oache ,one of our rescued dogs was available for adoption starting March month, his lovely picture and description was advertised in our latest newsletter.
Extremely lucky ,within few days ,he was already virtually adopted by Gill ,one of our longtime supporters from UK.
Gill sent us a lot of information's about dogs she already had, some coming from abroad.
She sent us good pictures describing the new environment where Oache will grow from now on(the house, park where he will run and play,...).
(photo:Archie(in the leash),the Romanian stray and his new brothers, rescued by our wonderful Gill from Thailand shelter.)
Gill thought about everything, she even start dreaming during nights how our Oache will play with her others dogs ....she even came up with a new name for our furry boy: Archie ,easier to be pronounced in English and socialized .
Thanks to her big heart ,her open minded judgment helped offer a chance to a homeless in countries where the true animal lovers support is greatly needed!
Thank you, Gill - for making a difference for ROLDA dogs!
Homeless child - winner of the contest about homeless animals !
Mihai Cristian Secara (12 years old) is the winner of the contest organized in partnership with local media.
The touching letter Mihai wrote about his parrot BOBI was selected between others 85 letters we received and impressed the jury - a true love' lesson of an abandoned child speaking about his pet with sincerity and pure commitment.
Successful education campaign in local media ,17.03-17.04
ROLDA and its partners, the local newspaper "Viata Libera" and "Arcelor Mittal" Galati - organized a contest addressed to entire local community,to humans inspired by their pets and/or animals they rescued.
Animal lovers were invited to send a brief story (max 30 lines) about how their pet influenced at some point the "writer" life, impressing with their sincere love, loyalty and intelligence or teaching us a lesson about what real commitment and devotion means.

Mittal delegation visiting ROLDA new shelter.
Please "meet" the people that became our strays' "guardian angels"; helping us to help not only hundred of homeless, abused animals but also creating a legacy for the coming generations.
The Mittal 'delegation was genuinely interested about the strays and the shelter conditions .
Being impressed by what it is built so far, they assured us of full support in the future to finalize this huge project, which seemed just a "too good to be true" dream .
Azorica adopted in Holland !
Azorica is one of the dogs listed on our "Adopt a stray!" website section, sheltered at ROLDA from few months and looking for a good, loving family to offer her a new chance!
She is extremely friendly with people, other dogs and cats,3 years old and very sweet;spayed and with all veterinary papers in order.
Sending her in Holland wasn't an easy thing to arrange ...
There was a Dutch family willing to adopt our beauty ,but the costs to use airline services from Bucharest to Amsterdam were very high,so we almost loose hope regarding her adoption...when the miracle happened: one (half Dutch and half Romanian) family visiting shortly Galati and seeing ROLDA shelter ;hearing the story of Azorica -decided to change the bad luck that our furry baby had so far and offered to take her in their family SUV for FREE to their home in Rotterdam.
There, our Dutch Representatives, Patrick & Tineke transported her further to her new adoptive mom in Amsterdam.
The good news don't stop here: impressed by the good conditions that ROLDA shelter offers to abandoned animals ,the young Dutch couple decided to promote our worthy cause back home through their own veterinary clinic from Rotterdam !
(photo: Azorica discovered the piece of Heaven that every homeless animals should enjoi of,if we would be more sensitive and careful)
It is said that everything happen for a reason in our lives and for sure, Azorica 'destiny was to find eventually the loving familly she dreamed for all her life !
Special thanks goes to Johan and Carmen...we couldn't make Azorica 'dream come true without YOU !
Thanks to Mr.Robert S.generosity, we can have FREE transport/shipping from UK to our shelters !

Emergency needs at ROLDA small shelter
Described as "the best shelter" in Eastern Europe, our shelter need to be maintained and renovated with regularity in order to be an enough comfortable home for sick, abused animals in short term or long term treatment.
Thanks to our supporters, we were able last year to buy more tiles for all the kennels from the second block to be tiled, easy cleaned and disinfected, but some of the fence and the kennels' wood need repairs.
